The Video Production Programme within the Discipline of Media and Cultural Studies, School of Arts, College of Humanities, University of KwaZulu-Natal, in partnership with the Durban International Film Festival (DIFF), is proud to host the South–South Screen Dialogue.
The event brings together filmmakers, creative practitioners, academics, and industry leaders from across the Global South, with delegates from Brazil, Rwanda, and South Africa, to engage in meaningful conversations about the future of the creative screen industries.
Powered by UKZN Video Production students, this dialogue provides a platform for learning, teaching, knowledge exchange, and partnership-building. It explores opportunities for collaboration in filmmaking, television, digital media, and the broader creative industries, while celebrating the unique perspectives, stories, and innovations emerging from the Global South.
The South–South Screen Dialogue reflects UKZN's commitment to industry-integrated learning, international collaboration, and the development of the next generation of screen professionals through authentic engagement with leading practitioners and global partners.
The dialogue is hosted in the Council Chambers on Westville Campus by UKZN's School of Arts, working with the city's film-industry partners.
